What is the dress code?

Gentlemen must wear a collared shirt with slacks, and a jacket. Ladies must wear comparable, appropriate attire.

No jeans or sneakers are permitted. We recommend businesswear as a general style guideline.

How do I get to the convention by subway?

Take the N/Q/R/W trains to 57th St/7th Avenue or
F train to 57th St or
A/C/B/D trains to Columbus Circle/59th Street or
N/R/W trains to 59th Street/5th Avenue

What should I do when I arrive?

Tell the doorman you’re there for the MVJ Convention and go to the registration/check-in desk. Provide your name to the registration attendant. VIPs only need to show their badges at the registration desk. General admission attendees will receive a badge from the registration attendant.

Where is the registration desk?

If you’re arriving on October 5th, it will be located at the Legion Room on the 6th floor.
If you’re arriving on October 6th, it will be located at the Olympic Room on the 9th floor.
If you’re arriving on October 7th, it will be located at the President’s Room on the 12th floor.

What if I am attending the Gannett/USA Today or Bloomberg tours?

Please arrive for registration in the Legion Room by noon. We will split into groups and walk to the newsrooms together. If you require accommodations via ground transportation, please arrive by 11:45 am.

When and where is the DAV Career Fair?

The in-person career fair will go from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on October 6th in the Olympic Room on the 6th floor.

The virtual career fair will go from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on October 7th.

All attendees are asked to upload their resume into the Career Fair resume database by registering as a jobseeker here: https://www.careereco.com/events/MVJ

How should I prepare for the DAV Career Fair?

We recommend bringing copies of your resume and/or business cards. Be ready for on the spot job interviews. You should also register for the virtual career fair so your resume will be uploaded to the resume database that recruiters can access.

How can I confirm my attendance for specific events?

Please check off the events you plan to attend on our public attendee list. We ask that you only edit your registrant row on this Google Sheet.

What if I don’t get there in time for the Gannett/USA Today & Bloomberg tours?

Register in the Legion Room on the 6th floor. Another group will form up at 2:00 pm to meet us at NBC Studios.

Do I need a ticket?

If your name is on the public attendee list, you will not need a ticket. If your name is not on this list, email [email protected].

Is there a place I can hang out if I’m not watching a panel or at the career fair?

The Legion Room on the 6th floor will be open for all three days of the convention to provide refreshments and general networking.

Are volunteers needed?

Please fill out the MVJ 2023 Volunteers form if you’re willing to help us with convention operations.
